UCC STUDENTS COULD EARN ONE OR MORE TERMS FREE

As the economic belt tightens for most Jamaicans, the University College of the Caribbean (UCC) is finding increasingly more creative ways to ensure its students are able to afford tertiary education. New, prospective and returning UCC students have the opportunity to now earn up to 100 percent discount on a term’s tuition.

Through an affiliate marketing programme, dubbed the ‘Collaborative Recruitment Programme’, UCC students will be given a five percent discount for making qualified referrals to the institution commencing the September 2008 term. With no limitations on the number of referrals a student can make, the opportunity then exists for the referring student to earn a full term free for their qualified referrals.

  Exploit Distance Education

In the context of a globalized world and our own CSME, distance education has become an important part of the education menu in terms of opening up opportunities for education and training. This is even more so with the competition for scarce resources and our traditional institutions not being able to meet the growing demand for higher education in our society with respect to physical space and the availability of highly qualified professionals where they are needed across the island and the region. It is very much still a new growth area in the Jamaican economy that offers great possibilities, particularly for the adult learner, juggling the need for further education with the demands of financial security.
