Business Savvy
Computer Degrees
Students of
computing
degrees usually
focus primarily
on specialized
knowledge to the
abandonment of
much else. But
not at UCC.
Guided by market
realities in the
development of
its Information
Technology, (IT)
and Management
Information
Systems (MIS)
programmes, the
institution has
deviated again
from the norm to
ensure that its
students
graduate with
competencies to
excel in their
specialization
as well as
operate their
own
establishments;
or at least,
have an
appreciation of
fundamental
business
processes.

January 10, 2008

are heartened by
this turn out in
male registrants
who have been

INNOVATION AT
IT'S BEST
In today’s techno-savvy society just about
everyone expects
information to
be at their
fingertips and
why shouldn’t
they when the
infrastructure
and the
resources to
facilitate this
convenience are
easily
accessible and
in some cases
free. This was
the thinking of
a group of final
year students
from the first
cohort of the
Bachelor of
Information
Technology (IT)
programme at the
University
College of the
Caribbean, (UCC)
who developed a
virtual tour of
the main campus
in completion of
the requirements
for their
degree.
