1 Year Diploma Course

The UCC Diploma in Human Resource Management is ideal for Trainers, Managers, Supervisors and other individuals who are involved in human resource management as well as persons desirous of pursuing a career in the field. This diploma is also recommended for credits to colleges by the American Council on Education.


Course Objective

To adequately equip participants with the skills and competencies required to effectively manage and lead efficiency improvement strategies. This course prepares students for at least an entry level management position in the HRM department of companies and to be able to function as key players in the management of organisations' human resource.

The Graduate will be able to:

  • Introduce and maintain skilled and motivated personnel in an organization.
  • Develop and continuously increase the Human Resource skills for the organization.
  • Influence strong team building skills among the workforce.
Programme Design
The Diploma in Human Resource Management is a one-year Part-Time programme.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 3 GCE or CXC O'Level subjects with passes at A, B or C / 1 or 2 (including English Language and Mathematics or Accounts). Participants with CXC passes at level 3 since 1998 are also eligible.
  • Other qualifications that may be considered by the Department of Studies as equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in a managerial position will usually be considered in addition to the above.


PROGRAMME SCHEDULE
  • Duration :  Approximately 1 year.
  • Schedule for Kingston: Early Bird (Morning) Monday- Thursday (7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.)
                  Sundays (9:00 a.m.- 4:00p.m.)
  • Evenings (5:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.) for all other campuses
