ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Academic Requirement
Applicants must hold a recognized first degree in any
subject, for which they should have obtained high grades.
- English Language requirement
Applicants must have a high proficiency in English. Students
might be required to pass or to have passed within the last five years, at an appropriate level, a test of proficiency in English.
TUITION/ FEES: The overall cost of the programme is £9,295.00 plus UCC application fee of US$15.00. However these fees are subject to review at short notice.

Materials Provided by UOL After Registration
Students are provided with a comprehensive range of materials which may include some of the following)
- Course Units specially designed, written and prepared to guide your studies
- Assigned Readings - Text books and recently published or seminal articles
- Optional - supplementary readings
- Assignments, excercises, in-text questions and specimen examinations
- Video cassette lectures for some courses
- Audio cassette excercises for some courses
- Computer software for quantitative courses
NB: Course Material are mailed as Education materials but may still be subject to Customs duties in your country of residence. In such cases, it is your responsibility to settle any duty charges.
Student Loans
Applicants may apply for an international student loan through the International Education Finance Corporation (IEFC) in the USA. No collateral or security is required, but interested applicants will need to identify a US co-signer to guarantee the loan. Application forms and brochures are available at IMS/IMP offices.
N.B. Interim payments should be negotiated with the Accounts Dept. until loans are finalised.
Transfer of Credit
Students may transfer no more than 4 units or courses for their Bachelor Degree programme. All transfer credits must be approved.
Examinations
Examinations take place once per year between September and mid October.
Failing an Examination
If you fail an examination at the first sitting, you will be allowed one further attempt, after which your registration will cease, if you are unsuccessful.
Application Procedure
Individuals interested in applying for admission to the UOL programme should submit the following:
- Both UOL and UCC (IMS/IMP) application forms for
Postgraduate Degree Programmes
- Official transcript(s) from every
college/tertiary institution/university attended to be sent to 6 Belmont Road, Kingston 6
- Certified copies of academic certificates
- Non-refundable UCC (IMS/IMP) application handling
fees are required.
DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE
Attach a certified copy of one of the following as proof of your full name (including any change of name) and date of birth to your application:
- A birth certificate
- Passport
- Marriage certificate
- Deed poll
- Statutory declaration
- Alien's registration certificate
NB. Submit either the original certificate(s) showing the final
awards for each qualification or photocopies of these originals
verified by a British Council official.

There is a J$100 charge for each copy to be
certified.
The British Council Office certifies documents between the hours of: 9:30 am and 12:30 pm.
Certification is done by appointment on Wednesdays only.
IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE:Application Deadline - March 19, 2005
Payment of Course Fees - May 4, 2005
The Institute reserves the right to withdraw/postpone a scheduled course if the registration is insufficient for a complete class consisting of twenty five (25) participants. In this event, IMS will refund all fees already paid towards the withdrawn course.
Application fees are non-refundable.
NB. Late applications will only be considered by UCC (IMS/IMP) on a case-by-case basis and on the availability of space.
