3-4 Year Degree Course


This programme is divided into 3 years. The four subjects in each year must be taken together at the same occasion. In order to be allowed to progress to Year II; you must pass the intermediate examinations and similarly you must pass the Year I examination prior to being allowed to progress to Year II.

Faculty
Instructions will be provided by an eminent and highly qualified team of local faculty and other professionals.

Quality of Programme
The University of London is recognized nationally and internationally as a centre of academic excellence. The quality of its degrees is assured through the assessment and examination process. Upon completion of the programme, you are awarded a University of London degree. There is only one University of London degree, and it is awarded both to students attending in London and external students.

Tuition Fees

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicants must hold either an associate degree or 3 year diploma or 2 'A' Levels + 3 'O' Levels or 6 CAPE (including 2 double unit courses) + 3 CSEC . Any other acceptable qualifications may also be considered.
  • All applicants must also satisfy other specific degree requirements (see UOL prospectus)

EXEMPTIONS

  • Students with a first degree may be considered for the graduate entry route. Persons admitted via this route may be automatically exempted from no more than 3 of the 12 units or courses.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Individuals interested in applying for admission to the UOL programme should submit the following:
  • Both UOL and UCC Application Forms for Undergraduate Degree Programmes
  • Official transcript(s) from every high school/college/tertiary institution/university attended
  • Non-refundable UOL and UCC application handling fees are required (see above UOL prospectuses)

NB. Late applications will only be considered by IMS on a case-by-case basis and on the availability of space

DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE

Attach a certified copy of one of the following as proof of your full name (including any change of name) and date of birth to your application:
  • A birth certificate
  • Passport
  • Marriage certificate
  • Deed poll
  • Statutory declaration
  • Alien's registration certificate

NB. Submit either the original certificate(s) showing the final awards for each qualification or photocopies of these originals verified by a British Council official.

There is a J$200 charge for each copy to be certified.

The Institute reserves the right to withdraw/postpone a scheduled course if the registration is insufficient for a complete class consisting of twenty five (25) participants.

Application fees are non-refundable.

Textbooks and Materials

The core text for the 4 first-year compulsory courses will be provided by UOL once the initial registration fee has been paid. Students will responsible for purchasing all other texts.

Student Loans

Applicants may apply for a student’s loan offered by one of several local financial institutions, such as the Churches Credit Union and First Global Bank . Application forms and brochures are available at UCC offices.

N.B. Interim payments should be negotiated with the Accounts Dept. until loans are finalized.

Transfer of Credit

Students may transfer no more than 4 units or courses for their Bachelor Degree programme. All transfer credits must be approved.


CLASS STRUCTURE

  • Saturday Evenings (6 p.m.- 8 p.m.) & Sundays ( 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
    There will be two (2) terms per year )
