of Management & Production (IMP),
in its quest to increase access to
quality higher education in Jamaica,

to earn your bachelor’s degree
in a full time (day) programme or
as an evening (part-time) programme.
Course Objective
This degree has been developed
by experienced educators to provide
a comprehensive learning experience
for each student. It is designed to
provide you with valuable business
and management skills which will help
you to succeed in the modern business
environment. It emphasizes development
of the individual through management
strategies and critical thinking.
Graduates of the Business Administration
programme will be able to hold jobs
in management, administration in small
or large firms and are qualified for
graduate degree studies.
Faculty
Classes will be taught
by professionals, men and women who
work in the fields they teach and
who are thus able to provide a practical
link between the theories of the classroom
and the realities which exist in the
world.
Target Group
This degree programme is specially
designed for persons:
- Who are currently in administrative
positions or who aspire to be in
administrative positions and want
to upgrade their skills and competencies
- Who have recently left high school
and who wish to pursue a career
in the field
- Who intend to pursue further studies
in the area
Programme Description
1) A lower level general
business component. On completion
of this component the student will
be awarded the Associate of Science
Degree in Business Administration.
2) An upper level component of specialised
study in Business Administration. On completion
of this component the student will
be awarded the B.Sc. in Business Administration.

Admission Requirements
- As a lower division student, students
must complete requirements for an
associate degree, that is, applicants
must possess a minimum of 5 CXC
(General) or GCE O’level passes
including English Language and Mathematics.
or
- IMP’s Diploma in Business
Administration or IMS’s Diploma
in Management Studies or its equivalent
from a registered tertiary institution,
or
- Be at least 26 years of age or
older, with at least five (5) years’
work experience and have in the
opinion of the Institute the capability
to do the standard of work required
for the programme. These candidates
may be required to perform at a
satisfactory level on a prescribed
aptitude test and/or a selection
interview or
- As an upper division student,
you may enter if you have an Associate
Degree in Business Administration
from IMS or IMP’s Associate
Degree in Business Studies or have
completed 60 semestre credits of
work from an accredited
